Rain Making Taiko & Good Harvest Taiko
Ryujin means a god of dragon in Japanese. Ryujin daiko is a rain-making taiko piece derived from "enome no ebisu taiko" of Ishikawa prefecture. It is believed that the thunderous sound of Taiko overcasts the sky with a rain cloud and sends the rain. The piece starts at a slow tempo and gradually picks up a faster beat. This piece is good for beginners to learn the basic methods of wadaiko. Honen daiko is a taiko piece derived from original honen daiiko coming down to Nanao City, Ishikawa prefecture, Japan. The farmers express the joy and the gratitude for a bountiful harvest crying "yoiyasa!". It is arranged for beginners to perform easily.
