Eisa (Folk Dance from Okinawa)
Eisa is music with dance originally performed in Okinawa. It was originally a traditional folk performance for a memorial service for their ancestor's spirits. It's popular as a modern dance performance with drums around the world. Please note that drums for Eisa are not made of hard material. It's not as durable as other Japanese drums.
|Eisa Odaiko||Light and bigger taiko drum for Eisa. It's hung from shoulder with sash and played with a stick. It produces lower sound.|
|Eisa Shime Daiko||Rope tensioned taiko drum for Eisa. It's held with a hand and played with another hand with a stick. It produces relatively high pitch sound.|
|Paranku||Small drum for Eisa. It's held with a hand and played with another hand with a stick. It produces high pitch sound with less reverberation.|
