This dynamic and powerful piece is based on the ohayashi (festival music) of the Chichibu night festival. Performers sit and play the nagado daiko full of energy using their abdominal and back muscles. Meanwhile, they play shime daiko to keep the rhythm like a ball rolling. The contrast of nagado and shime is the most unique feature of this piece. Chosi haya uchi is a taiko piece that is arranged to the rhythm of haya uchi daiko in Choshi City, Chiba, Japan.The taiko player plays to both the sweet melody of bamboo flute and the cheerful sound of chanchiki. Each players hold lower position while playing. You could say that the piece is enjoyable and fun, however playing is challenging.
