Took my new 3 hon choshi out of the package and immediately loved the nice dark honey color. The notes are low and mellow sounding, which I prefer. I will have to practice a bit to cover the "pinky" hole at the bottom. It's a bit of a stretch. All in all, a very nice shinobue.

Great flutes! They arrived quickly and there were no problems with the shipping. These are my first bamboo made shinobue and I'm very pleased with how they sound.

The shinobue flute I ordered was delivered astonishingly fast and in perfect condition. The flute itself is amazing and has great sound.

The bamboo shinobue is bright in tone and easy to sound.
The resin ryuteki has a sweet mellow sound, but takes a bit of practice to get the embouchure right.

I've found this to be a superb shinobue for the price and quality of craftsmanship. It is easily playable, in tune, and responsive all the way into Dai Kan. Perfect for playing Take No Uta and improvisations.

Amazing ! I love it !

It's incredibly well done and the sound is very sweet! Hope to buy some more flutes in the future!

Shinobue is very light~ not very easy to produce stable sound.. if you are trying to pick up shinobue, I will suggest using plastic fue instead

I bought a furyu 3 hon choshi and a tamaki 8 hon choshi. New player all the way from Belgium.
Shipment to Belgium was really fast! Quality of packaging was great! I can and will recommend Taiko Center Online Shop!
Both came with a bag. I really fell in love with the furyu. Once you get used to the real bamboo sound, it is hard to go back. I think the tamaki is really nice to start, but i will probably order another bamboo 8 hon choshi soon.
At the time of writing, still learning to play kan on! Wish me luck!

I'm a professional flute player, This instrument has terrible tuning. Do not buy for any application in which you are playing to a western scale. Bottom register plays at least a half step sharp at A440hz and the second register plays half step flat and sharp all over. I wish I could return this.

Maybe I just suck but it sounds very airy and I can't play any of the notes corresponding to the holes covered by my right fingers. I tried so many angles and even different strengths of airflow but still can't get consistent notes if I even manage to make it sound.

The shinobue 3 hon choshi I recently purchased is a really good instrument. The sound emission is easy in all octaves and the sound is very beautiful. The more I play it, the more I realize that I have made an excellent choice.
I wanted to customize it by making some black wire bindings myself.

From my initial enquiry, through to the delivery of my gorgeous shinobue, and on to after-sales, my experience with the Taiko Center has been without fault. They were so helpful and patient, guiding me on choosing exactly which instrument was right for me. The shinobue arrived speedily, and in great packaging. The instrument itself is beautiful, extremely well-made, and so tactile. I couldn’t wait to play it, and of course the sound is resonant, subtle, and the splits between the octaves easy to get. I can’t recommend both the people and the flutes highly enough.

I was so happy that my shinobue arrived so quickly. I have played on it several times since I received it today, and though I am a beginner I am happy with the sound. It looks beautiful, too. I look forward to learning how to play it properly!

Total Novice Opinion:
I am.very pleased with my order.
The instrument (8 hole Shinobue Furyu in C) feels quite nice. Very lightweight, smooth finish, and an easy to learn embrochure. Taiko Shop follows up to ensure satisfaction every step of the way, and was a real pleasure to purchase from.
I will definitely look to Taiko Shop first for similar purchases. Thank you!

I need to change many things in playing this 8 hon choshi Shinobue since I have practiced with 7 hon choshi only. It is a good Shinobue for the price.
