Naname / Inclined Stand

Popular Slant Stand For Naname Style

Inclined stand (slant stand) is popular with not only Japan but also all over the world. This stand is used for bon daiko, a taiko performance for bon odori dance. So sukeroku daiko, a taiko group in Tokyo incorporated bon daiko into their modern taiko performance, this style is also called sukeroku style. Naname uchi (slant hitting) is more easy term for it.

"Naname" means tilted.

This playing style makes easier to get into the rhythm and play with dynamic motion. In bon odori dance, taiko is played in order to make dancers feel good and enjoy rhythm and dance. This inclined stand is perfect taiko stand for naname uchi style (bon daiko style and sukeroku style). You can adjust the angle by changing the point of bolts and the length of rope.
