There are some types of traditional Japanese percussion.

Chappa | Cymbals used for festivals and taiko |
Chanchiki | Gong played with a beater used for festival and taiko |
Tettou | A set of iron tubes used for taiko performance |
Hyoushigi | Wooden clappers used for festivals |
Naruko | Wooden clapper used for popular dance festival, Yosakoi |
Kotsuzumi | Smaller tsuzumi drum put on player's shoulder |
Otsuzumi | Bigger tsuzumi drum put on player's knee |
Kakko | Small drum played with sticks for tohgaku |
Sannotsuzumi | Small drum played with a stick for komagaku |
Shime Daiko | Drum set on the stand and played with sticks |
